Skinnet Beach
skinnet beach a coast candles memory

This photo was from one of our many drives up north and round the west coast of Scotland. This was taken on Skinnet beach in Tongue. Dad had his own shellfish business so most weekends involved piling into the van and lots of road trips right round the north of Scotland. This day we were collecting cockles we got given 50p per bucket of cockles… my dad was always encouraging us to earn money, it wasn’t the nicest job picking cockles and winkles but it was always a challenge to earn more than my brother.
