Autumn is the perfect season to add warmth and cosiness to your home décor and a candle centerpiece is a simple yet beautiful way to achieve that. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to create a stunning autumn candle centerpiece in just 10 minutes. Let’s get started!

  1. Gather Your Supplies

Before you begin, gather all the necessary supplies. You’ll need:

  • Autumnal coloured cheesecloth or piece of material
  • A leafy garland (artificial is great and can be used for many arrangements)
  • A log slice or a shallow dish/tray
  • A variety of autumn leaves (real or artificial)
  • Small pumpkins and apples and a pomegranate (real or artificial) – or other seasonal fruit – I’ve also used some mini dried pumpkins which I’ve had for a number of years
  • A variety of candles in varying heights (I’ve used simple white candles, including our tealights, travel candle, tumbler candle and a plain unscented church candle) – you can introduce coloured candles if you want to go into full autumn mode – think reds, orange, gold…
  • Pine cones – natural or dipped in wax – I’ve opted for wax dipped on this display
  1. Create your base layer

Lay your material along the length of the table, don’t try to be overly neat (like a traditional tablecloth), the un-styled look is better – gather in and spread out at different points to add depth to the arrangement. Then lay your leafy garland on top – similarly, avoid a straight line – let the garland fall naturally into place.

  1. Prepare the log slice / tray

Place your log slice or shallow tray or plate on a flat area, usually around the centre of your table. This will serve as the base for your centerpiece. Ensure it’s clean and free of any debris.

  1. Arrange the Leaves and Pumpkins

Take your autumn leaves and scatter them across the table, creating a colourful base. You can overlap them slightly to create depth. Next, arrange the small pumpkins on the log slice and the remaining fruit on top of the leaves and around the garland. Position the pumpkins at various heights for a visually appealing look and place the other fruit at random points along the table – remember odd numbers are better than even – so 3 or 5 pieces of fruit. You can then add in your pine cones – I’ve only used a couple here, but you could go all in and have quite a few to create a really full centrepiece.

  1. Add the Candles

Place a single tealight on your log slice / tray beside the pumpkins and then add in all the other candles, nestling them among the leaves and fruits. Make sure to leave enough space between them to avoid any fire hazards and be aware of any leaves that might be too close to a naked flame. You can use candles of different sizes for added visual interest.

  1. Light and Enjoy

Once everything is in place, light the candles and watch your autumn centerpiece come to life with a warm, inviting glow. Be sure to keep an eye on the candles while they’re lit and never leave them unattended. Your quick and easy autumn candle centerpiece is now ready to enhance the cosy atmosphere in your home.

Creating a beautiful autumn candle centerpiece doesn’t have to be time-consuming or complicated. With just a few supplies and 10 minutes of your time, you can infuse your home with the spirit of autumn and enjoy the cosy ambience it brings. Give it a try and let the warm glow of your candles embrace the autumn season in your home!
